Er geh\u00f6rt zu den besten und interessantesten Mandolinenspielern die ich kenne.<\/p>\n<p>Vor einigen Jahren hat er das <strong>Andrew Collins Trio<\/strong> mit\u00a0Mike Mezzatesta und James McEleney gegr\u00fcndet.<\/p>\n<p>Jeder der drei Musiker beherrscht mehrere Instrumente, Andrew Collins spielt Mandoline, Mandola, Mandocello, dazu Gitarre oder auch mal Geige,\u00a0 Mike Mezzatesta \u00fcbernimmt Mandoline, Mandola oder Gitarre und auch der Bassist kann zur Abwechslung auf dem Mandocello mithalten. Wenn sie auf Tour sind nehmen sie bis zu 13 Instrumente mit. Stilistisch bewegt sich das Ganze dann zwischen progressivem Bluegrass und klassischem Zupfensemble. Andrew Collins sagt in einem Interview dass er das Trio mag, da es in dieser Besetzung viel Platz gibt kreativ zu sein, viele M\u00f6glichkeiten gibt die Klangfarben zu gestalten.<\/p>\n<p>Gerade hat das Trio eine Doppel-CD ver\u00f6ffentlicht &#8211; <strong>tounge groove<\/strong>.
