Bei vimeo habe ich das folgende Videos gefunden in welchem St\u00fccke der beiden\u00a0 MANdolinMAN CDs zu h\u00f6ren sind. Im ersten Video h\u00f6rt man ein St\u00fcck aus der neuen CD, \u00c1gua de beber von Jobim, im zweiten Video werden St\u00fccke aus der ersten CD gespielt, Bearbeitungen von Volksmusik aus Flandern:<\/p>\n<h4>MANdolinMAN (Belgium) plays Bossa Nova :<\/h4>\n<h4>\u00c1gua de beber (A.C. Der Klang der Gruppe erinnert mich an das Melonious Quartett von Patrick Vaillant.<\/p>\n<p>Vor Kurzen hat die Band ihr Brasilien Programm auf einer Tour ducrch Brasilien gespielt, einige Bilder davon kann man bei Facebook finden: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/MANdolinMAN\/235076116508426\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">facebook page of MANdolinMAN.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h4>Weitere Informationen<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mandolinman.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Website MANdolinMAN<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Just like Alan Lomax followed in his father&#8217;s footsteps, Hubert&#8217;s son Andries Boone (Leuven, \u00b01977) started the MANdolinMAN project, in order to bring his father&#8217;s notations to life. He does so in a very distinct way, together with three kindred spirits: mandolinists Peter-Jan Daems, Dirk Naessens and Maarten Decombel. Being played on a very well-known instrument as the mandolin, the &#8218;local&#8216; melodies (from Eppegem, Hever, Zaventem, Elewijt &#8230;) become timeless and universal. Even, a trained ear will find it difficult to locate some of the origins. Echoes of Appalachia? Northumbrian sprightliness? Melancholy from Lisbon? Cape Verdean elegance? No, nothing like that: the wonderful instrumental music of MANdolinMAN stems from Flanders and its environs. I can&#8217;t imagine a more fitting tribute to Hubert Boone and his work.&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00dcbersetzung: So wie Alan Lomax in die Fussstapfen seines Vaters getreten ist, so begann Hubert&#8217;s Sohn Andries Boon (geb. in Leuven 1977) das Projekt MANdolinMAN um die Sammlung seines Vaters zum Leben zu bringen. Er macht das auf eine sehr spezielle Weise, zusammen mit drei anderen verwandten Seelen: die Mandolinisten Peter-Jan Daems, Dirk Naessens und Maarten Decombel. Gespielt auf dem allgemein bekannten Instrument Mandoline werden die lokalen Melodien (aus Eppegem, Hever, Zaventem, Elewijt &#8230;) zeitlos und universal. Sogar ein ge\u00fcbtes Ohr wird es schwer haben die Herkunft dieser Melodien herauszufinden. Echos aus den Appalachen? Melancholie aus Lissabon? Kap Verdesche Eleganz? Nein, nichts davon &#8211; die wundervolle Instrumentalmusik von MANdolinMAN stammt aus Flandern und der Umgebung. Ich kann mir kein passenderes Tribut an Hubert Boone und seine Arbeit vorstellen.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Review FolkWorld: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.folkworld.de\/50\/e\/mandolin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dusting Down the Tunes<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI contacted the musicians to come and participate in the project. I knew them because Belgium is, shall we say, very small! I chose the tunes and it sounded so nice playing them together that we were convinced to go for it. To be honest the record\u2019s first main goal was a surprise for my father\u2019s 70 birthday! It started as a one off gig and CD. But the story went its own way. Today it has become an international story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Andries fills me in on the MANdolinMAN quartet\u2019s personnel. \u201cDirk Naessens is mostly known from playing with Urban Trad. Maarten Decombel is known from his solo work and of course from the folk bands Snaarmaarwaar and Naragonia Quartet. Peter-Jan Daems played with Snaarmaarwaar untill January 2013. They all have clocked up an impressive service in folk music. Maarten is also one of the best guitar players in Flanders. Dirk received a &#8218;government medal&#8216; on fiddle at the Brussels conservatory and played with many excellent bands in Belgium, though Urban Trad was the best
