Die Avett Brothers habe ich zum ersten mal auf einem Mittschnitt des Merlefest von 2008 gehört, ein Konzert das mir sehr gut gefallen hat. Die Avett Brothers haben einen ganz eigenen Stil, der geprägt ist durch ihre Art zu singen und die Instrumente Gitarre, ein manchmal etwas scheppriges, aber kultiges Banjo, ein stehend gespieltes Violoncello und einen Kontrabass. Manchmal hören sich die Avett Brothers fast an wie die frühen Beatles, gemischt mit etwas Punk und Bob Dylan.
Inzwischen ist die aktuelle CD der Avett Brothers auch in Deutschland erschienen.
