Das New American Mandolin Ensemble (NAME) ist eines der führenden Zupfensembles in den USA. Es wurde 2014 von Mark M. Davis gegründet. Das New American Mandolin Ensemble spielt überwiegend neuere Kompositionen für Zupfensemble, dabei besonders Werke amerikanischer Komponisten.
Im Mai war das Ensemble auf Tour in Großbritannien. In London gab es ein gemeinsames Konzert mit dem London Mandolin Ensemble. Am 25 Mai gab das Ensemble ein Konzert im Folk House in Bristol. Dieses Konzert wurde gefilmt und ist komplett bei youtube zu sehen. Eine gute Gelegenheit einige neuere Werke für Zupfensemble kennenzulernen.

In 2013 the American guitarist/ mandolinist/ conductor Mark Davis formed a ground-breaking new group of professional musicians to perform original contemporary music for plucked strings. The 7-member New American Mandolin Ensemble is comprised of three mandolins, two classical guitars, ‘liuto cantabile’ and string bass. While the New American Mandolin Ensemble champions the best of international composers for this medium, the group has a special interest in promoting works from the USA, as well as works reflecting jazz, folk and world influences.
